Excellence in Competence and Benevolence

To start with, each contributor to the BWTT should read the BWF Principles (see viewtopic.php?t=180), which explain the necessary benevolence and the basic competences to have or develop (competence = capabilities/knowledge, benevolence = goodness in character).

The BWTT carries a huge responsibility, it is literally about real human life, and in certain cases also about (preventing premature) death for a large number of people. Not only that, the BWTT is battling against a vast array of established powerful organizations that are all very well organized, have immense resources, and employ huge numbers of people who are well selected, experienced and relatively intelligent. (To however not overdramatize all that, understand that true intelligence always leads to wisdom and thus benevolence, and therefore is hardly, in fact almost never, found in all these institutions!)

The BWTT needs contributors that at least together excel in competence, and its purpose demands that they all also excel in benevolence, working to really do good in the world and not just pretend or claim to do so. Only then can it be successful, overcome the odds.

The necessary competence, where contributors do not bring it already right from the start, is gained by reading the Knowledge Base PDF (see http://pdf.en.BWF.solutions), and should be built upon steadily as one becomes more and more involved and experienced in the BWTT.

While a tolerable lack of competence in some areas, be it spelling, writing, research, development, networking, or some other, may be compensated by other contributors, including administrators, moderators, proofreaders, editors, publishers and so on, a lack of benevolence is hard to compensate and would have much more negative effects for the BWTT. With benevolence comes motivation, and motivation leads to competence. However, the BWTT needs to work efficiently and therefore cannot pamper contributors who show a massive lack of competence in any area they want to get involved in. Here it must be demanded that acquiring competence is done by learning in homework (e. g. with the Knowledge Base PDF, see http://pdf.en.BWF.solutions, and following all its learning recommendations) before one starts to actually contribute.

All contributors to the BWTT shall maintain at all times a motivating atmosphere within it, always seeking a good balance between directly working for its purpose on the one hand and mutually supporting each other on the other hand, in the awareness that for a truly effective and efficient think tank, we need our combined competence and work efforts, and also need to attract new good contributors, the more the better (also compensating for people who stop contributing for whatever reason, as just happens from time to time).

All contributors shall seek to mutually increase their competences, while also being alert to ensure each contributor is actually benevolent and not a disrupting agent who needs to be effectively and permanently removed from the (online) premises by the administrator. The administrator will hear each side and act only on provable facts, give second chances where really tolerable, and treat everybody with respect, dignity and diplomatic tact, including any perpetrators or people who must be asked to abstain from further getting involved in the BWTT due to a severe lack of competence.

Various competence fields are discussed in the chapters of the workflow steps in the Knowledge Base PDF (see http://pdf.en.BWF.solutions), including self-management and heuristic expertise. The more competences you already bring to the table, the better, but the BWTT is also a place to mutually learn together and from each other. One thing every contributor should always strive for is conciseness, saying as much as possible in as few words as possible. This makes our communication efficient and often also much more effective.

As for benevolence, you can use the BWTT to fight for your own causes (as part of some minority, or as part of the general masses, in need) as well as for other minorities, if you really strive for truth, justice, and the best world that can be achieved. Be an advocate for others and/or fight for yourself, it’s all your free choice.

While other think tanks employ people always for some kind of reward, usually money but sometimes also prestige/fame, the BWTT must never do that, as this corruption means a severe lack of benevolence, which is all proper and fine for very most other think tanks, but is completely incompatible with the BWTT. The BWTT is not for profit, and it is also not a place for vanity and ego-trips, but the motivation must align solely with the purpose of the BWTT, to really do good in the world, ideally to make it the best place we can.

Each contributor will still benefit greatly from their BWTT work, most of all of course whenever they solve with it problems that affect themselves, but also by learning from it, and by having the satisfaction of successes every now and then. By improving the world, we can actually get a better life, materially, socially, and emotionally, than we could ever buy with money and/or get through vain fame. Money is a con scheme, it lets us hunt shadows and dreams all our life long; better work directly for the things you really want, at least besides your “day job”, and you are much more likely to finally get them!

In the BWTT. always strive for excellence, the highest levels that you can currently achieve, in both competence and benevolence! — Both will also benefit you greatly in life.
